Instructions

  1. Prepare the Pie Crust: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour and salt. Cut in the chilled butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Gradually add ice water, one tablespoon at a time, mixing until the dough comes together. Chill the dough for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Preheat the Oven to 350°F (175°C).
  3. Make the Filling: In a medium bowl, whisk together the apple butter, eggs, vanilla extract, and spices. If desired, add brown sugar and blend well.
  4. Assemble the Pie: Roll out the dough and transfer it to a 9-inch pie plate. Pour the apple butter filling into the crust.
