Description

A beautiful and inviting dish that combines salami and cream cheese into delightful roses, perfect for gatherings and celebrations.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 pieces salami (thinly sliced)
  • 4 ounces soft cream cheese (room temperature)
  • 2 tablespoons plain Greek yogurt (or a splash of heavy cream)
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh chives
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 12 pieces small crackers or crostini
  • 1/4 cup mixed olives (pitted and halved)
  • 1/4 cup thinly sliced cornichons or gherkins
  • Fresh herbs for garnish (thyme or microgreens, to taste)
  • Honey or fig jam (optional drizzle for contrast)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine the soft cream cheese, Greek yogurt, chopped chives, and lemon zest. Stir until well mixed and the texture is smooth and glossy.
  2. Take each slice of salami and gently roll it like a loose flower petal, keeping the edges slightly ruffled to create a rose shape.
  3. Place the rolled salami rose into the center of a cracker or crostini and press it down lightly to secure it.
  4. Spread the olives and cornichons around the assembled roses on a serving platter.
  5. Garnish with fresh herbs to add freshness and visual appeal.
  6. If desired, drizzle honey or fig jam lightly over the top for a sweet balance against the savory flavors.

Notes

Store any leftovers in an airtight container, layered with parchment to prevent sticking, and keep chilled for best freshness.
