- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons peppermint extract
- 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup chopped mint candies (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
- Beat in the eggs, one at a time, then stir in the peppermint extract.
- In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just blended.
- Fold in the chocolate chips and chopped mint candies (if using).
- Drop rounded tablespoons of the dough onto ungreased baking sheets.
- Bake for 9-11 minutes or until edges are lightly browned.
- Let cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
