- 3 tablespoons granulated sugar (for rolling)
- 1 tablespoon cinnamon (mixed with rolling sugar)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, beat the softened butter with granulated sugar and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until the mixture is glossy and well combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Gradually add this to the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined.
- Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough and roll into smooth balls, placing them on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until edges are golden brown.
- While warm, roll each cookie in cinnamon sugar mixture to coat.
- Allow cookies to cool slightly on a wire rack before serving.
Notes
Use freshly ground cinnamon and freshly grated nutmeg for the best flavor. Adjust rolling sugar for less sweetness if desired.
