Dr. Oz’s Tangerine Weight-Orade Recipe: A Refreshing Metabolism Booster

  • Author: Joudia Elise
  • Total Time: 8 hours 15 minutes
  • Yield: 8 cups (1 pitcher) 1x

Description

Dr. Oz’s Tangerine Weight-Orade is a refreshing metabolism-boosting drink made with green tea, fresh tangerine slices, and mint leaves. This cold-infused beverage supports hydration, appetite control, and natural energy throughout the day.

Ingredients

Scale

8 cups brewed green tea (cooled to room temperature)

1 large tangerine (washed and sliced into rounds, peel on)

1 large handful fresh mint leaves (about 2025 leaves, gently bruised)

1 tsp honey or stevia (optional, for slight sweetness)

Instructions

1. Bring 8 cups of water to a boil, then remove from heat. Wait 3-4 minutes until temperature drops to around 175°F.

2. Add 4-5 green tea bags (or 2 tablespoons loose leaf) and steep for exactly 3 minutes. Remove tea bags without squeezing.

3. Let tea cool completely to room temperature (about 45 minutes).

4. Wash the tangerine thoroughly and slice into ¼-inch rounds, leaving peel on.

5. Place mint leaves in your palm and give them a firm clap to bruise and release oils.

6. Pour cooled green tea into a large glass pitcher. Add tangerine slices and bruised mint leaves.

7. Stir gently with a wooden spoon. Cover pitcher with plastic wrap or lid.

8. Refrigerate for at least 8 hours or overnight (12 hours is ideal for best flavor).

9. Serve chilled over ice if desired. Strain out tangerine and mint, or leave in for continued infusion.

10. Drink 6-8 cups throughout the day for optimal hydration and metabolism support.

Notes

Never pour boiling water directly onto green tea – always cool to 175°F to prevent bitterness.

Bruise mint leaves gently; crushing them releases chlorophyll and makes the drink murky.

Use filtered water for best taste if your tap water is chlorinated.

The drink stays fresh for 2-3 days in the refrigerator.

Avoid drinking after 5 PM if you’re sensitive to caffeine.

For a sparkling version, top with club soda just before serving.

Grass-fed green tea provides highest quality catechins for metabolism support.

Pair with balanced meals and regular movement for best weight management results.
