Description
Chewy French Toast Cookies melt-in-your-mouth with a warm, maple-kissed aroma and a gently spiced crumb, perfect for holiday brunches or school lunches.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup maple syrup
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, cream together butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Stir in the maple syrup until fully incorporated.
- Drop spoonfuls of dough onto prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the edges are golden.
- Let the cookies cool for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
- Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
Notes
Use real maple syrup for the best flavor. Chilling the dough for 30 minutes can help make thicker, chewier cookies.
