The Gelatin Trick for Weight Loss: How I Stopped Night Cravings in 3 Weeks

  • Author: Joudia Elise
  • Total Time: 2 hours 5 minutes
  • Yield: 12-16 cubes (1 batch) 1x

Description

Quick, jiggly gelatin trick cubes with lemon and honey that actually help curb cravings and keep you full. A simple, no-fuss gelatin trick recipe that slides right into your weekly meal prep lineup. Perfect for appetite control and weight management.

Ingredients

Scale

1 cup water (½ cup hot, ½ cup cold)

1 tablespoon unflavored gelatin powder (about 1 packet Knox or Great Lakes)

12 teaspoons fresh lemon juice

1 teaspoon honey (or stevia for sugar-free option)

Instructions

1. Heat ½ cup of water until steaming hot, but not boiling. Use an electric kettle for convenience.

2. Slowly sprinkle the gelatin powder over the hot water while stirring constantly. It’ll get a little foamy—that’s completely normal.

3. Stir until the gelatin dissolves completely. This takes about 30-45 seconds.

4. Add the lemon juice and honey. Mix thoroughly until well combined.

5. Pour in the cold ½ cup of water to cool things down and stop the cooking process.

6. Transfer the gelatin trick mixture into a small glass dish or silicone mold (4×6 inch glass container works perfectly).

7. Place in the fridge for at least 2 hours until fully set. Make Saturday evening for Sunday morning prep.

8. Once set, cut into cubes and store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

Notes

Eat 2-4 gelatin trick cubes 15-20 minutes before lunch and dinner for best appetite control results.

Don’t heat these cubes—they’re meant to be eaten cold. Heating will melt them back into liquid.

Store in airtight container in fridge for up to 5 days. Make fresh batches every Sunday.

For pink gelatin variation: Add ¼ tsp Himalayan pink salt OR 1 tsp beetroot powder in step 4.

Avoid fresh pineapple, kiwi, or papaya—they contain enzymes that prevent gelatin from setting.

Use grass-fed gelatin (Great Lakes or Vital Proteins) for best quality, or budget-friendly Knox from any grocery store.

Perfect for meal prep: Make one batch on Sunday, portion into small mason jars (4 cubes per jar) for grab-and-go convenience.
