The official Gelatin Trick recipe by Chef Joudia. This 3-ingredient functional drink is designed to boost satiety, support joint health, and improve skin elasticity using the power of bloomed gelatin and Vitamin C.
Ingredients
1 tbsp unflavored gelatin powder (approx. 10g)
1/2 cup cold water (essential for blooming)
1/2 cup hot water (not boiling)
1 tbsp fresh lemon juice (for Vitamin C absorption)
1/2 tsp raw honey or stevia (optional for taste)
Instructions
1. BLOOM THE GELATIN: Pour 1/2 cup cold water into a heat-safe glass. Sprinkle the gelatin powder evenly over the top. Let it sit for 3–5 minutes until it thickens and wrinkles (blooms).
2. DISSOLVE: Pour the 1/2 cup hot water over the bloomed mixture. Stir vigorously with a spoon or frother until completely smooth and no granules remain.
3. ADD VITAMIN C: Squeeze in the fresh lemon juice. This step is crucial for activating collagen synthesis in the body.
4. SERVE: Drink immediately while warm for digestion, or refrigerate for 2 hours to eat as firm ‘satiety cubes’ before meals.
Notes
Chef Joudia’s Tip: Never skip the blooming step with cold water, or your drink will be lumpy.
Timing: For weight loss goals, drink this 30 minutes before your largest meal to reduce appetite naturally.
