- 1/2 cup Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- Cream the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, then mix in molasses, scraping down the bowl to ensure even mixing.
- Sift together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and spices in a separate bowl.
- Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients, being careful not to overmix.
- If using, fold in chocolate chips gently.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Allow brownies to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before lifting them out using the parchment paper to cool completely on a wire rack.
Notes
For a festive touch, consider adding cream cheese frosting or a light dusting of powdered sugar on top.
