Description

A simple yet flavorful Korean dish featuring eggs served over fluffy rice, embodying comfort and nourishment.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked short-grain rice
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • Sliced scallions (for garnish)
  • Sesame seeds (for garnish)
  • Salt, to taste
  • Oil (for frying)

Instructions

  1. If using leftover rice, steam it in the microwave for 1-2 minutes to heat it up.
  2. In a frying pan, add a teaspoon of oil over medium heat.
  3. Crack each egg into the pan; cook sunny side up until yolks are runny or boil for 7 minutes for soft-boiled eggs.
  4. Mix warm rice with soy sauce and a sprinkle of salt in a bowl.
  5. Spoon the soy sauce rice onto a plate, place the egg on top, and garnish with scallions and sesame seeds.
  6. Serve hot and enjoy your Gyeran Bap!
