  • 3 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat until shimmering. Add ground beef and cook, stirring occasionally, until browned (6-8 minutes).
  2. Push beef to one side, add diced onion and minced garlic, and cook for 3 minutes until translucent.
  3. Stir in broccoli florets and sauté for a minute to absorb beef juices.
  4. Season with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder, stirring thoroughly.
  5. Cover the skillet and let it cook for 5-7 minutes until broccoli is tender yet crisp.
  6. Reduce heat to low, add heavy cream, and stir gently to combine.
  7. Sprinkle cheddar cheese on top, cover, and cook until melted (2-3 minutes).
  8. If using, add Worcestershire sauce and red pepper flakes, stirring gently.
  9. Remove from heat and serve hot directly from the skillet.

Notes

Choose ground beef with some fat for better flavor. Fresh broccoli and creamy cheese make the dish comforting.
