Ingredients

  • 1 head of cabbage
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup cooked rice
  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Instructions

  1. Chop the cabbage into bite-sized pieces and place it in the slow cooker.
  2. In a skillet, brown the ground beef with chopped onion and minced garlic until fully cooked. Drain excess fat.
  3. Add the cooked rice, tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, salt, pepper, paprika, and Italian seasoning to the beef mixture and stir to combine.
  4. Pour the beef and rice mixture over the cabbage in the slow cooker, spreading it evenly.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours until cabbage is tender.
  6. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

For a silkier sauce, add a little extra butter. Garnish with parsley or a dollop of yogurt if desired.
