Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 16 oz. cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar (for cheesecake)
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 3 eggs (for cheesecake)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (for cheesecake)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream together butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in egg and vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually mix in flour until just combined.
  5. Press dough into a 9-inch springform pan and bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden.
  6. Let cool for 10 minutes.
  7. In a clean bowl, beat cream cheese and granulated sugar until smooth.
  8. Add sour cream, eggs, and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
  9. Pour cheesecake filling over cooled crust and spread evenly.
  10. Reduce oven to 325°F (160°C) and bake for 45-50 minutes until slightly jiggly.
  11. Turn off oven, crack the door, and cool cheesecake inside for 1 hour.
  12. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight before serving.

Notes

Use room temperature ingredients for smoother filling and consider using a water bath for even baking.
