Ingredients

- 400g spaghetti
- 5 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 100ml extra-virgin olive oil
- 1 tsp red pepper flakes
- Fresh parsley, chopped
- Salt, to taste
- Parmesan cheese, grated (optional)
Instructions
- Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions in salted boiling water until al dente.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
- Add the sliced garlic and sauté until golden, making sure not to burn it.
- Add the red pepper flakes and sauté for an additional 30 seconds.
- Drain the spaghetti, reserving some cooking water, and add it to the skillet.
- Toss well to combine, adding reserved pasta water if needed to loosen the sauce.
- Remove from heat, mix in chopped parsley, and season with salt to taste.
- Serve hot, topped with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
Notes
For a twist, you can add sautéed shrimp or vegetables. This dish is best enjoyed fresh.
