Ingredients

- 4 medium sweet potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
- 1 cup fresh or dried cranberries
- 1½ cups heavy cream
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1½ cups grated cheese (cheddar, Gruyère, or a blend)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp fresh thyme (or ½ tsp dried thyme)
- ¼ tsp nutmeg
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Butter for greasing the baking dish
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish with butter.
- Layer sweet potato slices, cranberries, and cheese in the dish.
- In a bowl, mix cream, milk, garlic, thyme, nutmeg, salt, and pepper. Pour over the layers.
- Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 20-25 minutes.
- Let it cool for 10 minutes before serving. Enjoy!
Notes
For extra texture, consider topping with breadcrumbs or nuts. Allow to cool before slicing for clean cuts.
