Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup warm milk (100 to 110 degrees F)
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg, room temperature
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup diced apples (peeled or not)
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast; let sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Mix in melted butter, salt, and egg. Gradually add flour, mixing until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough for about 5 minutes until smooth, then let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour.
  4. Roll out the dough on a floured surface into a rectangle. Spread melted butter over the dough, then sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon.
  5. Add diced apples on top, then roll the dough tightly.
  6. Slice the roll into 12 equal pieces and place them in a greased baking dish.
  7. Let them rise for another 30-45 minutes.
  8. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake the rolls for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Consider serving with a drizzle of icing or a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an extra treat.
