Preparation

  • Gather your ingredients and preheat your air fryer to 300°F (150°C).

Toasting the Bread

  • Lightly butter one side of each slice of bread.
  • Place the slices butter-side down in the air fryer basket.
  • Air fry for 3-4 minutes until the toast starts to brown.

Preparing the Egg

  • In a small bowl, crack your egg and whisk it gently. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Take the toasted bread out of the air fryer.

Adding Cheese and Egg

  • Sprinkle shredded cheese on the unbuttered side of the toast.
  • Pour the whisked egg on top of the cheese.
  • Optionally, add sliced tomatoes or spinach for added nutrition.

Final Cooking

  • Return the toast to the air fryer basket.
  • Cook for an additional 5-7 minutes until the egg is set and the cheese is melted.

Serving

  • Remove the toast carefully and let it cool for a minute.
  • Top with herbs or a dash of hot sauce if desired.

Notes

For best results, use room temperature eggs to make whisking easier. Keep an eye on the cooking time as air fryer temperatures may vary.
