Preparation

  • Scoop out seeds from a fresh pumpkin and place them in a sieve.
  • Rinse the seeds under cold water to remove pulp.
  • Soak the cleaned seeds in salted water for 30 minutes to 1 hour.
  • Pat the seeds dry completely using a clean towel.

Baking

  • Preheat the oven to 325°F (163°C).
  • Spread the seeds in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Bake for 10 to 15 minutes, stirring every 5 minutes.
  • Keep a close eye during the last minutes to avoid burning.

Cooling and Storing

  • Allow the seeds to cool on the baking sheet before storing.

Notes

For extra crunch, you can bake for up to 20 minutes, but watch closely to avoid bitterness. Store seeds in an airtight container to maintain freshness.
