Dip Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups chopped fried pickles Store-bought or homemade
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened Make sure it's at room temperature
  • 1 cup sour cream or plain Greek yogurt Use Greek yogurt for a lighter option
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 0.5 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tbsp fresh dill, chopped
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 0.5 tsp paprika
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Crushed crackers or breadcrumbs (optional, for topping)

Preparation

  • If you're using store-bought fried pickles, chop them into small pieces. If making them at home, dip pickle slices into seasoned flour, coat with breadcrumbs, and fry until golden brown. Pat dry with paper towels.

Mixing the Base

  • In a large bowl, beat softened cream cheese until smooth. Mix in sour cream, cheddar, mozzarella, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and fresh dill.

Combining

  • Fold in the chopped fried pickles gently to maintain some texture.

Baking or Chilling

  • For a warm dip, transfer mixture to a baking dish, sprinkle with crushed crackers, and bake at 375°F for 15 minutes.
  • For a cold dip, cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.

Notes

Make it ahead by preparing it a day in advance. For a spicy version, add diced jalapeños or hot sauce.
