Ingredients
  

For the Sliders

  • 1 lb Ribeye, sirloin, or brisket beef Choose a lean cut for the best flavor.
  • 8 slices Provolone or Swiss cheese Melted cheese is essential for flavor.
  • 12 pieces Mini slider rolls (Hawaiian or brioche) Sweet and soft rolls work well.

For the Au Jus

  • 4 cups Beef broth For flavoring and dipping.
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced Adds depth to the au jus.
  • 1 large Onion, sliced Caramelized for sweetness.
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce Enhances umami flavor.

Toppings

  • 1 cup Caramelized onions Adds sweet contrast.
  • 1 cup Sautéed mushrooms For additional flavor.
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard Adds tangy edge.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Season the beef with salt and pepper, and optionally rub with garlic powder and herbs.
  • For the slow cooker, place beef in, add broth, cover, and cook on low for 6-8 hours.
  • For the oven, preheat to 300°F, add broth in a baking dish, cover, and bake for 3-4 hours.

Prepare the Au Jus

  • Strain the drippings into a saucepan, add beef broth, garlic, and onions, then simmer for about 20 minutes.

Sauté and Slice

  • Let the meat rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing thinly against the grain.
  • Sauté sliced onions and mushrooms until golden brown, if desired.

Assemble the Sliders

  • Cut the slider rolls in half and layer with sliced beef, cheese, and toppings.
  • Melt the cheese under a broiler until bubbly and golden.

Serve

  • Arrange the sliders on a platter and serve with au jus for dipping.

Notes

You can make the beef a day in advance and assemble sliders just before serving. Variations include pulled pork sliders or vegetarian options with mushrooms.
