Ingredients
  

For the filling

  • 1 cup chopped pecans Can use pre-chopped for convenience.
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup corn syrup Can substitute with maple syrup for a different flavor.
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

For assembly

  • 1 can crescent roll dough Ensure dough is cold for easier handling.
  • 1 large egg, beaten For egg wash.

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, combine chopped pecans, brown sugar, corn syrup, melted butter, vanilla extract, and salt. Mix well until combined.
  • Open the can of crescent roll dough and unroll it into triangles.
  • Place a spoonful of the pecan mixture at the wide end of each triangle.
  • Roll the dough from the wide end to the tip to form a crescent shape, sealing the edges gently.
  • Place the crescent rolls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Brush the tops with a beaten egg for a golden finish.

Baking

  • Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.

Serving

  • Let cool slightly before serving. Serve warm or at room temperature, dusted with powdered sugar if desired.

Notes

For extra flavor, try adding a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg to the pecan mixture. Replace pecans with walnuts or almonds for a variation. Prepare filling in advance for quicker assembly before baking.
